Early Life
Sean Michael Leonard Anderson was born on March 25, 1988, in Santa Monica, California. He was relocated to Michigan when he was three months old. He grew up with his mother and grandmother.
His mother was a school teacher, while his grandmother was a female captain in the United States Army.
Regarding his education, he studied at the Detroit Waldorf School. He also enrolled and graduated from Cass Technical High School with a GPA of 3.7.
Music Career
Big Sean’s successful career started in 2005. He heard Kanye West being interviewed on a radio station. He quickly got to the radio station to meet with him.
Kanye West gave him 16 bars to rap for him, and Big Sean performed great. After that, he gave him (Kanye West) a demo tape before he left. Two years later, Kanye West signed him to his record label ‘GOOD Music’.
After his contract with Good Music expired, Big Sean released his first official mixtape titled Finally Famous. This was on September 30, 2007.
